Southampton are considering a loan move for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker-Peters, according to the Sun.

Mauricio Pellegrino wants cover for right-back Cedric Soares, and Spurs are apparently willing to let Walker-Peters leave on a temporary basis.

The 20-year-old was named man of the match in his Premier League debut against Newcastle on the opening day of the season, but he has struggled for game time since.

Although he isn’t getting many minutes, Walker-Peters remains an important squad player. He can be used on either side of the back line and has provided useful cover in the cups during Danny Rose’s absence through injury.

For that reason, I don’t expect Tottenham to let him go. But we’ll see.
