Real Madrid have offered Gareth Bale back to Tottenham in exchange for Christian Eriksen, according reports in Spain.

Bale hinted he is considering his future after scoring twice in last month’s Champions League final victory over Liverpool.

The Welshman has won the Champions League four times in five seasons since leaving Spurs in the summer of 2013.

He has been heavily linked with a return to England. Manchester United are believed to hold an interest, but previous reports claimed Bale would prefer a return to Tottenham.

Some stories went as far to say the 28-year-old would be willing to take a pay cut to return to north London.

And now, Spanish outlet Don Balon (via the Express) claims Madrid have offered Bale to Spurs in a straight-swap deal for Eriksen.

In truth, the report is speculative at best. Don Balon is likely just looking for ways to continue the Bale exit story.

Eriksen has been linked with a move to either Madrid or Barcelona, but he is expected to stay with Tottenham this summer.

  1. Surely this is a non-starter?
    1. Consider the source.
    2. Bales wages are horrendous, we couldn’t even think dream about matching them let alone realistically think about it.
Why would Bale take a pay cut when his contract doesn’t run out anytime soon? Just sit back and let the Euros role in and when his contract expires he can move back to the Premier league and get some £s to bulk up his already impressive stack of €s… sorted. He’d be crazy (and a bit stupid) if he did anything else.
