Lille will enter the race to sign Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou if they sell star man Nicolas Pepe before the end of the month, according to reports in France.
N’Koudou joined Spurs from Marseille in the summer of 2016 but has struggled to break into the team. He was loaned to Burnley during the second half of last season and has been expected to seal a permanent move away from the club this summer.
Having failed to attract interest from English clubs before the Premier League’s August 9th transfer deadline, N’Koudou’s only chance of playing first-team football this season lies abroad.
According to French outlet Mercato365 (spotted by HITC), Lille could make a move for N’Koudou if they sell winger Pepe, who is believed to be the subject of a £36 million offer from an unnamed club.
N’Koudou would be a direct replacement for Pepe, getting his wish of a return to Ligue 1 in the process. The deal would work for all parties but it is unclear whether there will be sufficient time to get it completed.
