Sampdoria star Joachim Andersen has revealed he would be open to joining Tottenham in the summer.

The defender was linked with a move to Spurs last month but the Londoners opted against making any new signings for the second consecutive transfer window.

Andersen has made 21 Serie A appearances so far this season, scoring one goal from centre-back.

And the 22-year-old Denmark international is apparently aware of interest in himself from across Europe.

Speaking to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet (via HITC), Andersen revealed he is unsure where he will move to next but name-checked Tottenham as a potential destination.

“It’s hard to say [which is my favourite league]. England, Spain or Italy. But it comes mostly to the club, which must have a good plan for me, and it must make sense in the long term,” Andersen said.

“I have to take the right steps at the right times. So I don’t really care if it’s Tottenham, Inter or Atlético Madrid.”

Christian Eriksen may be able to convince his countryman to join him in north London, provided Eriksen is still a Spurs player next season.

The 26-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of next term, has been linked with Real Madrid in recent months, although Spanish reports suggest the European champions have ended their pursuit.

Tottenham could be in need of a new centre-back in the summer if Toby Alderweireld leaves as expected – Andersen surely won’t be their only target.
