Tottenham Hotspur’s players are expecting Mauricio Pochettino to stay at the club this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Spurs boss has been heavily linked with both Real Madrid and Manchester United in recent months.

Firstly, he was tipped to take over at Madrid last summer after Zinedine Zidane’s surprise exit from the Spanish capital.

The European champions appointed Julen Lopetegui instead. He was quickly sacked and replaced by Santiago Solari, who was let go this week as Zidane secured a shock return to the Bernabeu.

Zidane has signed a three-year deal and so Madrid will not be looking for a new manager this summer.

Mourinho was mooted as a potential option for Manchester United back in December following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed until the end of the season but is now fully expected to take over on a full-time basis this summer after an extraordinary run of form.

And as a result, the Mail claims Tottenham’s players are no longer concerned about Pochettino jumping ship.

It is perhaps ironic that Pochettino’s future appears to be confirmed in the midst of a dreadful run of form.

Still, it’s a huge boost for Spurs in the long run.
