Manchester City have entered the race to sign Norwich City starlet and reported Tottenham target Max Aarons, according to Team Talk.

Last month we relayed reports suggesting Spurs are set to make a summer move for Aarons, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

The right-back has made 31 Championship appearances for high-flying Norwich so far this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

And Team Talk claims Tottenham now face competition from Manchester City, who have been impressed with Aarons during scouting trips.

At the beginning of the season, many believed Spurs were well stocked at right-back with Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters all competing for a place in the team.

However, there have been serious questions marks over the quality of Trippier and Aurier this term, while Walker-Peters will surely be keen to leave soon if his game time doesn’t improve.

Aarons is apparently valued at around £15 million, an asking price both Tottenham and City shouldn’t have too many problems meeting.

Spurs’ chances of signing the teenager could be harmed by their potential failure to qualify for the Champions League.
