Tottenham cruised into the final of the 2019 Audi Cup as a first-half Harry Kane goal gave Mauricio Pochettino’s men a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid tonight.

But on a night of so many positives, which included another excellent cameo from teenage sensation Troy Parrott, who was the width of the post away from scoring his first senior Spurs goal, as well as more minutes for a host of the youngsters that made the trip to Germany, there was one major negative – Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

There was nothing wrong with his performance against the 13-times European Cup winners, but the Frenchman shouldn’t be playing for Tottenham, it’s as simple as that.

Nkoudou has offered next to nothing since making the move from Marseille in the summer of 2016, not to mention the fact he has played just five minutes of Premier League football for Spurs in the previous two seasons.

He isn’t in Pochettinio’s plans moving forward and the Spurs boss would have been better off bringing on Jack Roles against the La Liga giants rather than wasting that substitution on Nkoudou.

Perhaps it was to put him in the shop window in a bid to catch the eye, but the sooner he is gone, the better.
