Juventus want to sign Tottenham duo Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld on free transfers next summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Eriksen and Alderweireld have both entered the final year of their current contracts but the pair stayed put this summer despite rumoured interest from across Europe. Alderweireld was mostly linked with Roma, while Eriksen was said to be on Real Madrid’s shortlist.

And now, the Mail claims Juventus may take advantage of Spurs’ situation by approaching the contract rebels in January, when they will be able to agree pre-contract terms ahead of signing Eriksen and Alderweireld for nothing next summer.

However, Inter Milan also apparently hold an interest in Alderweireld. It’s likely Antonio Conte was impressed by the Belgian during his time in the Premier League as Chelsea manager, and it is believed Inter have already made contact his representatives.

In any case, it seems very unlikely either player will still be at Tottenham this time next year as neither appears to be any closer to signing a new contract. Spurs could also lose Jan Vertonghen on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.

Big changes are clearly afoot at the club, and the fans will be hoping the quality of those set to leave can be replaced next summer.
