Malachi Fagan-Walcott described making his Tottenham debut as “proud moment for him and his family” after coming off the bench in stoppage-time against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.

With Davinson Sanchez ruled out of the game in Germany due to a slight injury he picked up at Burnley on Saturday, the teenager, who only celebrated his 18th birthday today, was named in a senior matchday squad for the first time.

And with Jose Mourinho’s men trailing 3-0 on the night and 4-0 on the aggregate, despite the scoreline, the Portuguese gave the young defender a special moment as he replaced Serge Aurier in the 91st minute to make his first ever appearance in senior football.

Unsurprisingly, the defender, who signed first professional contract in July 2018, took to social media to react to making his debut for the club he has supported since he was a boy.
