Jose Mourinho has finally been handed some positive injury news after defender Ben Davies and midfielder Moussa Sissoko returned to first-team training with the rest of their teammates at Hotspur Way on Thursday afternoon.

The Frenchman hasn’t played for Spurs since suffering medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton, which forced him to undergo surgery.

But Sissoko rehabilitation has clearly gone better than expected, with the club initially reporting that he wouldn’t return to training until the beginning of next month. Despite the news, you’d imagine that Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester Untied will come too soon for the former Newcastle United man.

Meanwhile, Ben Davies is also back in training after missing Spurs’ previous two games against Burnley and then Tuesday’s European exit at the hands of RB Leipzig and will no doubt be targeting a return to action against the Red Devils this weekend.

Mourinho is expected to give a full injury update when he speaks to the press on Friday.
