Dimitar Berbatov scored a number of outstanding goals for Tottenham, but perhaps none of his 46 in a Spurs shirt summed him up more than his wonderful solo effort against Charlton on this day 13 years ago.
Chasing a UEFA Cup place at the end of the 2006-2007 campaign, Martin Jol’s men won 2-0 at The Valley. But that evening in south London is forever remembered for the Bulgarian’s exquisite first-half goal, which included that incredible touch to take it past defender Talal El Karkouri, and a cool finish past a young Scott Carson.
Watch Berbatov’s moment of magic, plus a spectacular long-range effort from Jermain Defoe that relegated the Addicks.
