Tottenham are interested in signing Atalanta and Belgium defender Timothy Castagne, according to Football Insider.
The 24-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract with the Italian’s, has featured 22 times for La Dea this season – impressing in the Champions League as Atalanta find themselves in the quarter-final stage in first ever campaign in Europe’s elite competition.
The report from the Insider suggests that Spurs are keeping a close eye on the right-back – with Jose Mourinho keen on boosting his full-back department.
Serge Aurier’s form remains unconvincing, whilst Tottenham’s only other recognised right-back, Kyle Walker-Peters, is out on loan at Southampton and has been linked with a permanent move to St Mary’s – meaning Mourinho is likely to need reinforces.
Castagne, who is wanted by a number of other Premier League and Serie A sides, can also play as a wing-back and further forward on either flank.
The former Gent defender, who moved to Italy in the 2017, has scored twice in seven Belgium caps.
Spurs need to do this straight swap for aurier or Sanchez?????…..I would
