Pep Guardiola wants Manchester City to sign Harry Kane, according to the Independent.

Kane was instrumental for Tottenham as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Manchester City 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday. The England captain laid on Giovani Lo Celso’s goal to remain at the top of the assist charts and was generally excellent all over the pitch.

Meanwhile City lacked a cutting edge in attack without Sergio Aguero, but in fairness Spurs defended brilliantly and made it difficult for the visitors to test Hugo Lloris.

In any case, it seems Guardiola is keen to strengthen up front and it sounds like he is an admirer of Tottenham’s talisman.

The Independent claims that Kane was namechecked by Guardiola in recent discussions over a new contract for the City manager. It is believed the Spaniard would like the club to at least look into the possibility of signing the Spurs striker.

And the report goes on to say that Kane may push for a move if Tottenham do not win a trophy this season.

Spurs currently sit top of the Premier League but things can change very quickly. A top four finish certainly looks realistic, but if the Londoners don’t win silverware they will have to hope Champions League football is enough to keep Kane happy.

  1. My my, there’s a lot of funny talk. Let’s be clear, the reason this team is wobbling around on top of the division with a look on it’s face like the fat bridesmaid whose just had the bouchet landed in her hands is this: West Ham (h) Burnley (a) Brighton (h) West Brom (a) all of which were dire scrapes of results. Couple that with the top half sides playing each other and not being able to put 2 wins together and there you go. The City match was just bizarre, on going 2 down City had 17 shots and 69% possession to Jose’s lads 2….and of course the obligatory VAR decision. The Mourinho revolution is a myth, “14th place when he came!?” They coo….yeah and 2 points off the 7th or whatever he finished. 2 points…and Levy changed it at a time where an easy run would give it maximum impact. Without the lockdown (and VAR)he was bang in trouble…no Kane or Son….no signings(as per) 8th and losing ground, but the lockdown saved Levy with the dynamic duo fit again when it was over…but still only got 7th. Anti football like this won’t get this team anywhere , it’s an affront to true Spurs ways. They’ve made Macedonian postman look good….some real fixtures to come now. Table is pure anomoly.

    • Tottenham finished 6th, but don’t let that get in the way of your little story. What good are 17 shots if most are off target? Of course they had high posession, we let them have the ball in their own half to endlessly knock around achieving nothing. You sound like Pep, people should just give you the points because you have a few shots. Clueless anti Tottenham rubbish.

  2. So Tottenham are top because other teams keep losing? How strange, it’s almost like you get points for winning and none for losing…I hope the top half sides work this system out soon or they might not win anything.
