Tottenham are set to listen to offers for Dele Alli in January, according to The Athletic.

It was always likely to be a make or break campaign for the 25-year-old and despite a promising start, the last month or so have been largely forgetful for the midfielder.

Alli’s season took a sudden turn for the worse when he was hauled off at half-time in the north London derby when Spurs were trailing 3-0 to their greatest rivals.

Alli wasn’t the only Tottenham player not performing, but paid the price for a shocking first 45 minutes at the Emirates.

He would lose his place for the victory over Aston Villa the following week and hasn’t been seen since in the league, with his only two outings coming in the Conference League.

But even against lesser opposition, the former MK Dons man has failed to impress and was dropped from the squad completely for the Carabao Cup game with Burnley on Wednesday.

It’s unclear whether he’ll return to the matchday squad for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday, but his future at Tottenham appears in serious doubt.

And The Athletic believe that whilst Spurs have been against Alli leaving previously, notably blocking a loan move to PSG earlier this year, they’d now willing to let him leave in January.
