Tottenham have held further contract talks with Toby Alderweireld, according to The Mail.
The Belgian’s current deal expires in the summer of 2019, and Spurs are apparently keep to tie him down to avoid losing him.
Alderweireld currently earns £50,000-a-week – Harry Kane is said to be the club’s highest earner on around £110,000-a-week.
The Mail claims there are “growing concerns” Tottenham will be forced to sell the defender if new terms can’t be agreed.
Spurs have been linked with a couple of young centre-backs – Ben Wilmot and Sikou Niakate – over the last few days.
That doesn’t change the fact everybody at the club wants Alderweireld to stick around. Hopefully the situation is sorted out quickly.
