Tottenham are interested in signing Braga striker Paulinho, according to 90Min.

Paulinho scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in the Portuguese top-flight last season. At 27, he is yet to be capped at senior level by Portugal.

90Min claims Spurs are considering a move for Paulinho, who would apparently be available for less than £30 million.

That relatively low price will surely appeal to Tottenham as the Londoners probably won’t want to spend big on a player who will mostly be on the bench behind Harry Kane.

In his press conference on Friday, Jose Mourinho revealed he is hopeful the club will sign a striker – the arrival of a goalscorer could be the difference between a successful season and another poor campaign.

As long as this Paulinho is better than the last one…

The Brazilian Paulinho, who now plays in the Chinese Super League with, Guangzhou Evergrande (via Barcelona), arrived as one of the seven players who Tottenham signed with the money raised by Gareth Bale’s sale seven years ago.

Spurs fans still have flashbacks of that pass (or was it a shot?) against Burnley.
