Tottenham Hotspur are no longer interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Last week, we relayed reports from Portugal suggesting Spurs were close to completing a £62m deal, but it now seems those rumours were wide of the mark.

The Mail claims that Tottenham are one of a host of clubs who have enquired about Fernandes this summer but they are apparently no longer keen on the player.

Sporting are said to be eager to raise £50 million from the sale of Fernandes, and Manchester United are now the favourites to sign him after Manchester City joined Spurs in pulling out of a deal.

Journalists from Sky Sports and Football London have also provided updates on Tottenham’s pursuit of the 24-year-old, suggesting the Londoners never planned a move for him in the first place.

Spurs are still being linked with Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso and Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, but it looks like Fernandes can be crossed off the list.

Reports have claimed there are four players on Mauricio Pochettino’s summer shopping list – find out who they are here.
